I've wasted countless hours in software interviews, only for me to ask a few simple questions at the end of the interview and find out that the company doesn't do version control, or worse, that they're
"using something better".
Hint: They're not. It's worse. So much worse.
After having wasted yet another hour of my life, and being told by the recruiter that
"No, collecting this information is way too much work on our part"
(but somehow me spending hours in pointless interviews is not?!) I decided to start building JoelTest.com
The goal here will be for you to assign a Joel-Test to a perspective employer and be notified once it's completed.
Worst case scenario: I build something no one uses and I learn a few things along the way. Best case scenario: No more wasted interviews
